flos
Flos was founded in 1962 in Merano by Dino Gavina and Cesare Cassina who wanted to produce modern lighting. They enlisted the help of Achille Castiglione (pictured above), Pier Giacomo Castiglione and Tobia Scarpa. In 1964 the company moved to Brescia just outside Milan where they remain today. Flos products are truly iconic . The Splugen Brau pendant designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglione in 1961, the Foglio wall light designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1966, the Ariette designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1973, the simply stunning 265 wall light designed by Paolo Rizzatto in 1973 and more recently the Romeo Moon range designed by Philippe Starck in 1996 and the Glo-Ball range designed by Jasper Morrison in 1998.
